AMD Phenom II X6 1055T and 1090T: More Cores, Less Price

Our “CPU Test” timedemo showed a linear frame rate scaling, which goes up along with the clockspeed increase. Meanwhile, in our GPU timedemo, you can see the performance of the GeForce GTX 465-based graphics card on each of these different platforms. Under default conditions, both the 1055T and 1090T BE Phenoms were unable to run the game at 100 FPS, but it is by no means an indication of inferior gaming performance, since these 6-core CPUs pack more than enough punch to run the latest titles satisfyingly.
Resident Evil 5

This game is especially sensitive to the amount of available threads. Thanks to its eight threads, the Core i7 930 reigns supreme, even under default clockspeed. However, with overclocking technique, both “Thuban” processors managed to catch up and –eventually- surpass the Core i7 930’s (default) performance.

Neither the clockspeed nor the amount of available threads has any significant impact in this GPU-bound game. The GeForce GTX 465 graphics card experienced minimal performance deviations across all platforms, overclocked or not.
