Sharkoon Rapidcase: A Dual-interface, Massive Enclosure
Test Platform
Prosesor: Intel Core i7 930
 Motherboard: Intel X58
Storage: Patriot Inferno SSD 100GB, RAM Disk
 RAM: 3x 1 GB DDR3, 2x 4 GB DDR3
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 275
Unfortunately, because we found no eSATA cable in the package bundle, and since our own SATA cable was also damaged in some other occasion, we were unable to test the Rapidcase using its eSATA interface. We will add eSATA test result as soon as we obtained a new eSATA cable.

HDTune

Using USB 2.0 connection, Rapidcase’s data transfer rate is roughly close to USB 2.0’s maximum speed in both read and write scenarios.

Rapidcase’s access time closely resembles that of the storage drive it contains.

A similar thing happened with the burst rate, which performs according to the quality of the USB controller.
File Transfer Test
Using the USB 2.0 interface, Rapidcase performed quite well in our file transfer test. Both the file transfer test scenarios (6GB consisting of some large files, and the same amount consisting of more numerous, smaller files) require less than 5 minutes to complete. It is possible that the eSATA interface would further increase Rapidcase’s performance.
