Acer Aspire One D255: Double the Core, Double the OS
The Acer Aspire One D255 has pretty much the same list of connectors as Acer’s previous netbook offerings. You will find a couple of USB 2.0 ports alongside other connectors on the left and right sides of this netbook. The keyboard adopts the “water lily” design, giving the buttons some “floating” looks and feel. In our opinion, these keyboard buttons are relatively comfortable to use, due to their large sizes. There’s a drawback though: dust and dirt easily find their way between the buttons, so you’ll have to clean them up quite often.

Another feature from the Acer Aspire One D255 that we found interesting is the relatively small and lightweight adaptor unit. It’s only a bit larger than most cell phone adaptors. Carrying one of these in your backpack certainly won’t slow you down.
On the other hand, we don’t entirely agree with Acer’s idea of hiding the netbook’s components under one, single cover. While making the bottom side looks somewhat neat and integrated, this unified enclosure would make it difficult for users to upgrade the hardware inside. Perhaps it’s best to leave upgrading matters to Acer’s service centers to avoid little mishaps that could otherwise lead to some serious damage.
