MSI CX410: A Simple Notebook with Quite a Few Surprises

Mobile computing technology continues to evolve. In order to differentiate their products from the competitors’, some manufacturers resort to alternative components. MSI is doing just that with their CX 410 series of notebook. An AMD Athlon II P320 processor can be found at its heart, alongside 2 GB of DDR3 RAM. That should make it powerful enough to run the standard productivity applications.
The MSI CX410 fits best in the classic notebook category. Its overall design is quite simple, with smooth, black casing enclosure without any texture or motif. We would call this kind of style “minimalist”.

However, does the minimalist surface also reflect the quality of CX 410’s internal components? Not necessarily, apparently. Aside from the AMD processor we mentioned earlier, this notebook is also equipped with the ATI Radeon HD 545V graphics card, which, presumably, should allow you to play some 3D games with reasonable performance. We attempted to prove this later on in the benchmarking session.
The Radeon graphics also turns the notebook into a portable entertainment center. You can use it to play HD movies whenever you get a bit bored with your work, for example. Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to obtain any information on its final retail price in Indonesia. The notebook should be quite affordable when it arrives here though. Judging from the specification, it shouldn’t cost more than US$ 500.
