FX400’s Core i3 processor may be lacking Turbo Boost feature, but it’s still powerful enough to produce satisfactory results in our Sysmark 2007 test. It’s not too far behind compared to Core i5-powered notebooks. With this kind of performance, you should have no problem running most office application on the FX400.
Battery Life
With 4400 mAh of battery capacity, MSI FX400 held on for just 220 minutes or 3 hours and 40 minutes in MobileMark 2007. But don’t be disappointed just yet, because you can further extend that time by tweaking a few power settings. Other than that, it’s best to keep the charger handy at all times.
Video Transcoding
The GeForce GT325M dedicated graphics has CUDA support, so we carried out the video transcoding test under two different conditions. First, we turned off hardware acceleration and hand over the process entirely to the CPU, while, secondly, the GPU was used to full effect. In latter scenario, the video transcoding was quicker to finish, obviously. It shows that CUDA is running fine on the GeForce GPU.
