Review: Canon PowerShot S95
The PowerShot S95 has a wide ISO range, from ISO 80 to ISO3200 with 1/3 step increment and expandable to ISO12800. We carried out the test by taking some pictures under various ISO settings, from the lowest level up to the highest one. The photos below are cropped from the full picture to highlight the area that is most affected.

The PowerShot S90 was a good camera, and we expected the S95 to be, at least, equally good in terms of image quality. Still, we were surprised by S95’s surprisingly low noise levels. Pictures taken under IS0400 setting retained pretty much all of their details when compared to ISO80, while ISO1600 is also hard to distinguish from ISO800. We won’t hesitate to use high ISO levels with the S95. At ISO3200, the pictures are losing detail, but even that is still better than most cameras of its class.
