HP Pavilion dm4: Beautifully Designed for Corporate Users

SYSmark 2007

According to the results from our SYSmark 2007 benchmark, when it comes to performance in productivity applications, the HP Pavilion dm4 sits right where it should be. Its Core i5 450M processor and Intel GMA HD graphics earned the notebook a spot between the Core i5 460M and Core i5 430M. Perhaps a discrete graphics could have bumped the score a little bit more.

MobileMark 2007

In our MobileMark 2007 test, the HP Pavilion dm4 lasted for 313 minutes or 5 hours and 13 minutes before the battery ran completely out of charge. That figure is pretty impressive for a notebook powered an Intel Core i5 processor, at least for today’s standards.

MediaShow Espresso Video Encoding

HP Pavilion dm4 is quite a speedy video encoder. Even without the aid of a dedicated graphics card, its Core i5 450M processor managed to finish the process within a reasonable time.

Performance: Intel GMA HD

The integrated Intel GMA HD graphics on this notebook yielded a measly 1539 points in 3D Mark 2006. It means that the HP Pavilion dm4 is too underpowered to run even the least demanding, modern 3D games. It’s a different story with full-HD videos though, since the HP Pavilion dm4 can playback those flawlessly.
