Sejak era chipset Intel X99, ASRock sudah menawarkan produk dari lini “Taichi” mereka, yang merupakan motherboard yang diposisikan untuk kelas atas, dengan corak warna gelap – terang. Lini motherboard itu terus berkembang, dengan hadirnya produk Taichi lain dengan chipset Intel Z270, AMD X370, AMD X399, serta Intel X299. Kali ini, salah satu produk “Taichi” tersebut kembali hadir ke lab. pengujian kami, dengan mengusung chipset Intel X299.

ASRock sebenarnya memiliki dua varian motherboard Taichi dengan chipset Intel X299, yaitu X299 Taichi dan X299 Taichi XE. Keduanya tentu saja mendukung Core i X Series yang baru saja dirilis oleh Intel, dengan sedikit perbedaan di kapabilitas regulasi daya, di mana X299 Taichi XE mampu mendukung prosesor Core i9 tertinggi saat ini, Core i9-7980XE. Namun, bukan motherboard itu yang akan kami bahas kali ini, melainkan varian yang satu lagi, X299 Taichi.
