I did take the right guess about this notebook; Aspire 4741 will run most of today’s standard productivity applications without any problem, according to Sysmark 2007. I also tried running a more recent version of Photoshop, the CS4, to see if it really has what it takes to run modern apps. As it turned out, I could edit large pictures with ease using this notebook.

Battery Life

According to our MobileMark 2007 test, the battery on the Acer Aspire 4741 provides enough power to sustain it for around 270 minutes, or more than 4 hours. That should be sufficient for outdoor use, but it’s best to bring along the adaptor at all times, just in case.

Video Transcoding

The Aspire 4741 encodes HD video rather quickly for a notebook of its class. If you want to put videos into your smartphone or gadget while on the go, this notebook won’t be disappointing.

Graphics Performance

As usual, 3D Mark 2006 is used to measure notebook graphics performance. Judging by the numbers in the graphs above, this notebook is almost hopeless when it comes to 3D graphics. You can try to run some games, but the frame rate will suffer. After all, the Aspire 4741 isn’t a gaming notebook, it wasn’t designed with mobile gaming in mind. Well, at least the integrated graphics can still play full-HD videos.
