Review Corsair H60: Effective, Hassle-free Water Cooling
Conclusions
There’s only one word that best describes this unique watercooling solution from Corsair: Compact! The small radiator, low-profile waterblock (with integrated pump) and flexible hoses are all nicely put together as one combination. Its cooling performance is also remarkable for such a small package.
Compared to bigger, more cumbersome aircoolers, Corsair’s H60 is not too far behind. With 83 degree Celsius maximum temperature (full load, overclocked), maybe it’s not the best cooler in our test, but that also means that the H60 is just 5 degrees hotter than the best cooler in our test, the Thermaltake Frio OCK with its noisy fan. Simply said, the H60 can be relied upon to cool off your high-performance, multi-core CPU.
For those who fancy neatness and practicality over high-maintenance equipments, Corsair H60 will help make your PC look nice and clean. Personally speaking, we like H60’s compact waterblock design that is significantly smaller than the previous version. You do need to maintain good airflow inside the casing though. Unlike aircoolers, watercooling solutions cannot blow air towards the areas around the CPU socket (VRM, in particular), due to the separate fan design, located just behind the radiator unit.
The H60 is also equipped with a simple-but-effective mounting bracket. Most Intel mounting bracket comes with separate screw holes for each type of processor socket, but Corsair simplifies this by providing just one, oval hole that can be used for all Intel CPU sockets currently in use. To enhance its cooling performance, you can add one more fan to the other side of H60’s radiator.
