In the CPU-focused “CPU Benchmark” of this game, Core i7 980X holds the upper hand, though only by a slight margin. When we overclocked it to 4,6 GHz, the frame rate sky-rocketed to well beyond 200 FPS.

Meanwhile, in the “GPU Benchmark” different processor speeds brought only a minimal performance gain. Even with the 4,6 GHz overclock, the frame rate was only increased a little bit

This particular game is designed with multi-core processors in mind, and is especially sensitive to the amount of thread available on a system. However, as our result shows, it could not keep up with the “Extreme Processors”.  Core i7 980X’s 12 threads along with the overclock did not help it achieve a significantly higher score.
