Gigabyte GV-N460OC-768I – Ultra Durable with Windforce 2X

On the upper part of the Gigabyte GV-N460OC-768I, an SLI connector stands ready to connect this graphics card to an identical pair, should the user feel the irresistible need for speed. Since the 768 MB version of the GeForce GTX 460 sells for a relatively affordable price, SLI on these graphics cards is then made a viable option for many.

According to our test, the Windforce 2X cooler does a relatively good job of suppressing the heat from the GPU core. During full load conditions, we recorded a respectable 65 ^oC, while idle temps hovers around 34 ^oC. The “2X” suffix refers to the twin fans attached on top of the heatsink unit.

Now this is the PCB layout as seen from the back. Note the rectangular shape of the GeForce GTX 460 GPU chip, which differs slightly from the usual square packaging of GPU chips.
